Something I am working on...

Slowly rising with every inch closer to the pinnacle he drove. Long, hard, and moving fast, the road stretched to the top of the hill. Reaching the top looking out the window Clyde saw the red sunset casting low light of an ephemeral twilight across the tops of trees. Such a beautiful sight and yet such a short amount of time.

The gas pedal was down and the RPMs were up. There was no need to go fast. It simply made his mind feel better.

Ssssssssssccccreeach!

Hanging a left, all four tires squealed from the force of the turn. His blasting music drowned out the sound of the rubber, the smell too. The bass was deep and the cymbals crashed. Dum-dum-dum da-dumdum-ba-dum-ba-dum-ba. The power chords made his blood cool and his skin think with goose bumps. Clyde was exactly how he wanted to be. He banged his fists on the steering wheel as if playing the drums.

Eventually, he reached his destination. Unfazed by the aroma of burnt rubber, Clyde made his way to the store entrance. The red sunset had given way to a deep blue sky and hints of a star filled night. Still transfixed by the music he patted his thighs and his puckered lips hummed a beat. The air was still and everything felt calm.

With every step he got closer to the entrance and with every step the sounds in his head became more distant. Crossing the entrance and into the store his arms reverting to a sway, matching the pace of his feet. His puckered lips yielded to wide eyes and expanded nostrils while his ears beheld the horror of grocer store radio. And I think its gonna be alright. Yeah, the worst is over now, the morning sun is shining like a red rubber ball! From the lively darkness on the outside, to the austere brightness on the inside, Clyde had entered the realm of Buckos: Foods and Pharmacy.
